"My Sister's Keeper" is written from a first person perspective of the main characters of the novel. The novel takes place in 2004 spans over the course of two weeks. Anna Fitzgerald is a thirteen year old girl who has lived her whole life in and out of hospitals, but not for the reasons you may thing. Anna herself is never sick in these hospitalizations, but her Sister Kate always is. Kate Fitzgerald has been diagnosed with leukemia since the age of two, so Anna was conceived to be an exact bone marrow match for Kate. Anna has gonna thirteen years without questioning her role in life as Kate's donor. At the age of thirteen though Anna wants to know who she really is other than in her relation to Kate's illness, so she makes a decision that will not only threaten Kate's life, but tear her family apart.
